Mar. 26 - Apr. 2
1. Mau5hax- Titty Sprinkles (ft. Foreign Beggars
So, what happens when you get a bunch of up and coming producers in a Miami studio for 12hours? 2 brand new tracks with the big man, Deadmau5, taking the helm. The event was broadcast online live throughout the day. This lays the path for more creative collabs by this new generation of music. This song was written with the help of Twitter and Facebook posts.
2. Azad Right- Spiderwebs
So this week I found a lil hip-hop that I had been striving for. It has more then past its relise date, but since I just heard it, its up now. Azad Right has come out with this great track with some of the best lyrics I have heard in a long time. It is slower, but the rap is keeps the tempo up and your ears listening.
3. Alesso- Years (vocal mix)
Dance music powerhouse has done it again. Hear is his latest, a vocal mix he put out called years. It takes the catchy original and throws an even catchyier female hook in. Lets party this summer lol.
4. Hoodie Allen- No Interruption
The hip-hop continues now by Hoodie Allen, a sick NY jewish boy that knows how to rap. However I have never heard his flow like this before. The quick piano chords under the quick verses equals a instant 'headnoder'.
5. The Neighbourhood- Sweater Weather
My indie song of the week. And a quite the song it is. It may be the drums, it may be the sing/rap, it may be the simple accompaniment. A couple of weeks ago, I actually hung up my coat (I know I know, I jinxed it), but now we are in the heart of sweater weather season as it hailed yesterday....... Oh Canada ;)
Mar. 20-25
1. Zeds Dead & Omar LinX- Coffee Break
This chill dub/hip hop hybrid is exactly the song you need today. Not only does the hook stick in your mind, but the song pulls you in with dub drops, smooth piano, and impressive verses. All I gotta say is: I'm overworked , I'm underpaid. They takin' off, I'm goin late. They slacking on their coffee break.
2. Martin Solveig- The night Out (Madeon Remix)
I knew this kid would be back with more and here is just a taste. There is something about the chippy synths that put you in a good mood. This 17 year old has something that is definitely working.
3. Chet Faker- I'm Into You
Chet Faker has come out with this slow piano and drum song. It is nice to listen to something that brings back some of the basic instruments, and to come out with a great track like this is just a bonus.
4. Cold Specks- Winter Solstice
Astronomically speaking, we are far past the winter solstice (yeaaaaa 1st year astronomy)... but Etobicoke, Ontario (GTA) native, Cold Specks has comeout with a great acoustic piece here that is perfect for any: Thinking/Studying/Walking/Reading/etc. Such a positive steady beat accompanied by the Canadian female artist, Al Spx, and the low male vocals creates a truly inspiring song.
5. Mord Fustang- Super Fever
Allow me to present Mord Fustang. With a name like that it has to be good right. Realtively new they bring some interesting synths together to create a unique sound. This past week he has come out with a bunch of tracks for you to listen to on your own time. Here is one that I enjoyed.
Mar. 13-19
1. Dead Prez vs Flosstradamus - Total Hip Hop Recall (Jimi Needles Remix)
Here is your pump up on your sat night. Jimi does a nice job meshing these two artists together into a steady head banger that is perfect during most heavy drinking occasions ;). Have fun out there you crazy kids.
2.Parov Stelar- Jimmy's Gang
So do you remember that euro-pop loopy song that made it huge about a year ago. Take a listen to this one by Parov Stelar and see if you can hear that same catchy beat that should be around clubs before you know it. Enjoy this loopy beat.
3.Tiesto- Chasing Summers
So yes, Tiesto is still alive and still making amazing music. His touring career is extensive playing all over the world, however his music creation has been less then productive as of late. This is a great song to match the amazing March weather we've been having.
4.Action Bronson- Barry Horowitz
Rapper and chef Mr. Action Bronson embodies his vocals as a large white man. His rhymes remind me of Ghostface Killah and flow with a sharp edge at the end of every line. There should be more sick tracks out soon with this man's name attached to it.
5.Hot Chip- Flutes
The electro-trance song of the 5 this week. With sounds like Destroyer, Delorean, and even a lil M83, Hot chip is destand for greatness. The underloop (something about inside, outside, work that more?) really gets stuck in your head. Then every once in a while, that chippy major chord progression to make the song that much happier. Well done.
Mar. 12-18
1. Gotye- Somebody that I used to know (TheFatRat Remix_
No, I'm not a fan of a song that has been redone too many times. However, TheFatRat kills it again with this great electronic beat that redefines that walk off the earth video we all saw. This amazing 'remixer' shows no sign of slowing down.
2. Madeon- Icarus
17 was an akward year for most of us. Entering grade 12. Becoming kings of our high schools. Madeon has surpassed this phase completely and begun making this amazing electronic house. Its a mix of M83 feel good synth, with the pounding drops found in popular dance tracks. Clearly he has found something that works.
3.PrototypeRaptor- Drive Hard
Okay, so I know this is older, but I just heard it and love it. So hold on for this banger. I love how clear the synth comes in over everything. One of the nicest sounds I've heard in a while. Prototyperaptor, Jonathan Paulsen is 21 and pumped and remixing track after track. Drive hard. Drive Mustang.
4. Regina Spektor- All the Rowboats
Here we have what I like to call what Evanescence should have sounded like. The creepy keys with her voice accompaning creates a deep, eerie song. Very well written and performed.
5.Tobias R.- Sonnentanz
Let it build, and turn it up. This funky jam with a powerful pad that pulses under a jazzy guitar, powerful trumpets, chiming flute, and the soft mallets. This unique combination of jazz/funk/and electro-grove is a welcome change to mainstream electronic music.

Z-Trip/Jackson 5- I want you back (remix
And here we have a modernized chill remix of Jackson 5's I want you back. Z-Trip has been known for being a prominent remixing artist, but this was just so close to the original it feels more like a remastering then a remix.
