1. Justice- On'N'On (Rick Rubin Remix)
I have been a Justice fan now since I first rocked out to DVNO. I won't lie in saying that their latest tracks (including On'N'On) have been less than what I expect from them. Now we have Rick Rubin who comes in and turns what was a 'dud' of a song in to this funky beet. Rubin, executive at Columbia records, heard and loved Justice's two albums ( † and Audio Video Disco) and wanted to show a remix. This is his masterpiece.
2. Nero- Must Be The Feeling (Delta Heavy Remix
This Delta Heavy remix of Nero's Must Be the Feeling, has a distinct talker base line that reminds me of Daft Punk's Robot Rock. Then he takes it to a huge build that drops to an epic dub that rocks you for most of the song. Some may say too much. But this use of the LFO is used with expertise to keep you listening. Too often I hear a Skrillex song ruined by overuse of automation, but this remix finds a nice balance in the chaos.
3.Capital Cities- Safe and Sound (d'Anconia Remix)
Capital Cities original of this song, however good, was nothing to write on a website about. That song was always good enough to stay loved on my hype machine account (MyAccount), but now d'Anconia has added a elecronogrove to the song that turns it from a decent indie song, to a wubbing synthy masterpiece. The sawing synth's make you feel anything but 'safe and sound'.
4. Ed Sheeran & Yelawolf- You Don't Know
Lets get out of the remix world for a minute. UK's Ed Sheeran sings along with Alabama rapper Michael Atha, better known as Yelawolf in this slow hip hop/r&b/rap mix. Combonations like this only comearound a while, and when they work you can tell. I hope to hear more from these two different artists together, soon.
5.Betatraxx- Daft Punk Live Edit
I have always been a huge daft punk fan. Hearing most of their songs combined in this epic, synthy banger really get your head going and is a perfect 'pump-up' for any occasion.

1. Neon Hitch- F U Betta (Chuckie Club Remix)
Number one on my personal list this week. London, England native Neon Hitch (yes her birth name) pumps out a great track in F U Betta, then Chuckie Club comes in to blow your eardrums in this great remix. Admitted, it starts off slow (see comment at 1:00), but the rest is a banger that will be pounding in all the bars and clubs before you know it.
2.Walk Off The Earth- Somebody That I Used To Know (Gotye Cover)
Burlington Ontario's Walk Off The Earth were an instant internet sensation when they released this Gotye cover of Somebody That I Used To Know. All performed on a single guitar, the five members sang and were responsible for playing various loops and sounds (including 'drums' and a questionable picking at the head of the guitar). Sarah Blackwood, the female member, puts on a truly chilling performance. Instant internet sensations (click here for the video on youtube), her along with the band have already performed on Ellen Degeneres, and are staring down the same path that Finger Eleven found themselves in all those years ago.
3.Foster The People- Don't Stop (TheFatRat Remix)
So we all know who Foster The People are by now right? Ya, that song about the pumped up shoes. Well yes they do have other great songs, including this track, Don't Stop. However, TheFatRat has taken it and put on a funky synth bass line and awesome riffs and effects all over the place. By far my favorite combinations of synths. For reasons unknown to me, my mind is blown at 2:40 every time I hear this song. Expect TheFatRat to come out with some good stuff in the future.
4.Sol- Stage Dive (Single)
So, I'm not limited to hardcore techno. This Seattle,WA soul/ R&B/ rap/ hip-hop/ pop artist has a steady flow that keeps your head nodding the entire song. He is only 22 years old and has 5 albums already. He has big plans for his newest album, Yours Truly, due to come out this year.
5. Charlie Darker- Deadroll
When describing this banger by Charlie Darker, one word comes to mind: Anthem. The slower BPM will tear up the dance floor in weeks to come while keeping heads bobbing and guessing what Charlie is going to do next. Each breakdown is more epic than the last and builds up harder each time. I look forward to hearing more Charlie Darker soon.
